The Salt City Homebrew Club hosts several annual events including Big Brew Day on the first Saturday in May, a Summer Picnic in June, a weekend camping in September after Labor Day, and a Holiday Party in January.

Big Brew Day is May 2, 2026

In 1988, May 7th was announced before Congress as National Homebrew Day. The American Homebrewers Association created Big Brew Day as an annual event to celebrate National Homebrew Day around the world. https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/aha-events/big-brew-national-homebrew-day/

The Salt City Brew Club celebrates Big Brew Day by brewing outdoors at a local brewery the first Saturday of May each year.

Ever want to learn more about homebrewing, see brewing in action, or brew with other homebrewers? Now is your chance!

Bring your homebrewing setup, or just come to watch, and join fellow homebrewers while brewing some beer together for Big Brew Day at Van Hassler Brewing located at 8045 Oswego Road in Liverpool NY! https://www.vanhasslerbrewing.com/

We’ll start setting up at 10am and the brewery opens to the public at noon. Coffee and donuts provided by the club.

All family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. Even if you currently brew, this is a great opportunity to learn more about different brewing techniques and see some new equipment.

For those interested in brewing, electric and water will be provided, but you will need to bring your own equipment and ingredients.

Hope to see you there!

Summer Picnic is tentatively June 6, 2026

This is the picnic where we drink what we brewed on Big Brew Day. Club members, family, and friends are welcome to attend. The club provides the meat for grilling and plenty of jockey box taps for kegs of homebrew. Attendees are encourage to bring a dish to pass or a dessert to share.

Club Weekend Camp Out is September 11-13, 2026

The club reserves a campsite at Green Lakes State Park and club members reserve several campsites in the same area of the Rolling Hills campsites so that we have a section of the campgrounds almost to ourselves. We arrive Friday night and set up with Saturday being the party day.

Club members, family, and friends are welcome to attend. The club provides the meat for grilling and plenty of jockey box taps for kegs of homebrew. Attendees are encourage to bring a dish to pass or a dessert to share.
